| | tired | ] | So, it's not an ovarian cyst. Which is kinda good, but now I have to figure out what it is. My gyn thinks it's something muscle related.
I hope everyone had a faboo Thanksgiving and ate lots of turkey. |

I think I have an ovarian cyst. It hurts. I'm not happy.
I've had a mild ... presence for about a year and this past week it's gone from a 0 on the pain scale to at least a 3 with spikes to a 5. For a frame of reference, most of my pains after surgeries were at a 1 or 2. I had a back pain that was a 10, so this pain is at least livable. But it HURTS.
I have a GYN appointment Friday. |

One more week of Singin' in the Rain - and pained feet.
Who else thinks it's... well, hilarious is the wrong word, maybe ironically hilarious ... that the player Lane Kifkin accused Urban Meyer of cheating to get has been arrested for attempted armed robbery?
Participated in a Junior League event called Miracle on Main Street. Underpriviledged families got to shop for toys in the Friends of the Library warehouse. It was an amazing time and all the kids seemed thrilled. My job was printing pictures of the kids and Santa.
My knee hurts, too. I'm blaming the shoes.
On Sunday, (Tyler and) I were about to cross 43rd Street to get to the theater - only to be stopped by hundreds upon hundreds of motorcyles. We were there for 15 minutes and I estimated about 60 went by every minute. We saw a Stormtrooper on a motorcycle! Needless to say, half the cast was late for the 1pm call, and the show started about 5 minutes late for the same reason. Bikers on Parade FTW!
To those who friend me on Facebook without even the courtesy of telling me who the hell you are... I don't remember you. When was the last time we even spoke? Do you really think you're that unforgetable? Sometimes I can figure out where I know you by looking at our mutual friends... but when they cross the line of faire people, a former roommate's former boyfriend, and a coworker's husband, I'm completely lost. |

| don't blame me, blame Britney |

During Singin' in the Rain rehearsals, one of the choreographers called a cast member by the wrong name: Britney. Suddently Britney took on a life of her own and became an invisible cast member who was always doing the wrong things. Can't find your eyeliner? Blame Britney. Hose got a run? Britney again. Forgot to turn off your cell phone? That's right... Britney.
This all happened in the women's dressing room. Women that weren't there when this happened would ask, "Why are you all so mean to this Britney?" and we'd explain. The men kept trying to figure out who she was. A mannequin head was even used to depict her in the cast picture (complete with wig and scarf).
It's hard to explain, but it's one of the funniest things I've ever been a part of backstage at a show. |

We had an audience tonight for Singin' in the Rain. It was nice hearing laughter... but I have two funny lines and I just can't say them right for a laugh. It's driving me crazy.
The show went well tonight. I really, REALLY messed up my lines on Monday, but I've since recovered. (Although the other night, I called the male lead "Donna.")
I STILL haven't started reading Echo in the Bone. *sigh* Not only that, but CL Wilson's new book just came out, and I'm sure Robert Jordan's did, too. Get me to a bookstore... and give me some free time!!!!
Halloween this weekend, and I still think I'm in the first week of October.
I need to defrost a chicken.
I sold a story to an online review site, yay! It should run the week of December 3. Or maybe JUST December 3. I'll have to check.
My feet HURT. Although I found the perfect Dr. Scholl's combination so they don't hurt as much as they did.
That is all. |

[Oct. 12th, 2009|10:54 pm] |
My body aches. It's not designed to do the things the choreographer is having us do for a really long dance. Plus I'm wearing 2.5" heels. When was the last time anyone saw me in heels? Sheesh. But it's FUN, even if my legs feel like jello.
I've watched the first three episode of NCIS LA, and... well... yeah. Part of the whole NCIS appeal is Mark Harmon, and not only in a silver fox kind of way. The way Gibbs interacts with everyone around him is fun to watch. LLCoolJ and Chris O just don't have that. Yet. I may keep watching.
Did I mention my body aches?
I still haven't started Echo in the Bone, because I want to memorize my SitR lines first. I don't have many, but they're basically a monologue with very little cues from others to go from. But Jamie and Claire are beckoning, so I just might. |

[Oct. 11th, 2009|11:32 am] |
Yesterday I was told my singing voice is a "gift." I think that ranks pretty high up there on the list of compliments, along with "you're an amazing alto." Both of these were from people whose vocal opinions I respect.
I went on a nighttime Ghost Tour in St. Augustine yesterday. It was okay... the tour guide had a cheesy delivery. I think I would have prefered she play it straight, instead of trying to make her voice sound spooky. It was a bus tour, and I thought we were going to get out and explore all the sites, but we only got out at the lighthouse. Next time I'll do the walking tour for a more hands on experience.
I didn't see any ghosts, nor feel the presence of any ghost, nor smelled cigars of smoking ghosts. Still, I'm glad I did it, even if my favorite part was telling a friend, who was afraid of all things paranormal, that I was surprised she wore red, since ghosts are attracted to that color. Hee.
Many thanks to tiger_stripes for texting me game updates. I got to listen to the last five minutes or so on the radio driving home. Mick Hubert is da bomb. Go Gators!
Very tired today. The drive home was creepy... lots of fog and unfamiliar roads... it was kinda surreal. |

No, I haven't read it yet, because I wanted to reread A Breath of Snow and Ashes first and I FORGOT HOW FRIKKIN' LONG Diana Gabaldon books are. I'm about halfway done. Gah!! I should have started ABoSaA a MONTH ago!!!
Thanks for letting me get that out. I feel better now.

First night of dance rehearsal, and my body has been twisted in so many unnatural poses it's not even funny. Think Fred and Ginger or Esther Williams movies without a pool. But it was a lot of fun, even if my feet hurt and my knee is screaming at me. :) |

[Sep. 20th, 2009|10:26 pm] |
I know there are some Plum readers here...
I was disappointed in Finger Lickin' Fifteen. It seemed like Janet Evanovich spent half the book explaining the backstory. I mean, I know she doesn't want to alienate new readers, but anyone who pickes up a book that's 15th in a series has got to know there will be some catching up to do.
I liked the two story lines, but there wasn't enough of 'em. |

What does absinthe taste/feel like? Does it burn? Does it clear your sinuses? Do you start to feel it after one or does it take a few to get tipsy?
Details, please! :) |

Anyone have any tried and true recipes? I can look things up online just as easily as you. :) |

| Singin' in the Rain |
[Sep. 10th, 2009|02:58 pm] |
Yahooooooooooooo I got a part! \O/!!!
It's small, but that's okay. I'm assuming I'll also be part of the chorus and have random lines here and there. I'm Dora Bailey, and she speaks A LOT in the beginning and once in the middle. I'm really excited. We had our read through last night and the cast sounded GREAT!
I haven't been on stage for eight years. It's time. :)
Did I mention I thought I had a rockin' audition? hee hee hee. |

| | shocked | ] | So, I have to buy a present for an eight-year old. I asked Dave to get one on Saturday, and suggested the book Mrs. Frisbee and the Rats of Nimh. He had no idea what I was talking about.
I was shocked! Shocked, I tell you!
YOU all know what it is, right? |

| Siiiiiiiiiiiingin' in the Raaaaaaaaaaaaain |
[Sep. 7th, 2009|12:04 am] |
So, my plan tonight was to sing a song from Jeckyll and Hyde for my SitR auditions. First, I wake up congested and with a sore throat. *sigh* THEN I can't find my music book. ARGH! I spend the day resting and searching intermittently, and decide at 5pm (auditions are at 7) that I needed to find something else. I searched through my music and came up with a song that no one knows from a musical no one remembers. This is good, because only I'll know how badly I mess up when I sing. As I'm sitting in the auditorium, I start to panic. The song is no good. What am I thinking? I can't get the notes right. I can't get the WORDS right! I've never heard it before with just the piano. The guy providing accompaniment plays the beginning for me and says "Whatever you do, don't stop singing. I can't help you if you stop. I can help you if you keep going." Okay. I can live with that. I sing, and I TOTALLY ROCKED!!! You can judge how well you did by the applause of the others there. You always get applause, but mine had some intensity! Yay! Then I got to dance, and that was fun, too. I had a bit of a problem with the last step, but I smiled and put some personality into it and felt really good about it. Then came the reading. The part I was handed was for a radio announcer (I have a really good face for radio) and I channeled Robin Williams in Good Morning Vietnam. Hee. The director let about half the folks there go home but kept me and I read some more. I read for the leads, which ain't gonna happen. 1. The lead needs to DANCE and I can only dance. 2. She's a soprano, and I am so not. But it lets them see what else I can do. I have to go back tomorrow and read some more; I'm guessing for minor characters because they kept a handful of other men and women to keep reading the leads. I'm completely okay with this. I'm really surprised at how well I did. I've auditioned twice in the past six years, totally bombing the last audition. I was using this one to gage what I needed to do differently to audition for a show that I REALLY wanted to do, but it seems I've conquered that part. Hee. I had so much fun at auditions that now I really want to do this show! We'll see what happens tomorrow. |

[Sep. 5th, 2009|04:51 pm] |
No, I'm not going to the game.
I am SO excited about tonight. Yes, we're playing a team that will give our second stringers some good playing time in the second half. But it's the first game of a season with SO MUCH POTENTIAL to go FAR. I won't say the U word, but I'm thinking it! The team has always been good (if you ignore the Zook years), but this year is something special.
GO GATORS!! |
